Debit Card Round-Up at HCU is a great way to add money to your savings without even noticing you’re doing it! Each transaction made with your debit card is rounded up to the nearest dollar and then what’s rounded is transferred from your checking account to savings account at the end of the day.
For instance, if you make a purchase for $5.38 and another for $20.56 in a single day:
- $0.62 is rounded up from the first transaction.
- $0.44 is rounded up from the second transaction.
- In total, $1.06 will be transferred from your checking account into savings account at the end of the day.
Find Debit Card Round-Up in the drop-down menu next to the checking account. Select Debit Card Roundup to start enrollment. Follow the steps shown below to complete enrollment.
Select to enroll and the account where the round up funds will be deposited.
Finally, see confirmation of enrollment.
Funds are transferred only if they are available at the end of day. Round-up transfer will not cause the account to go negative. There are no catch-up transfers (i.e. If the transfer didn’t happen on Monday due to lack of funds, it won’t try again on Tuesday).
